Each year the Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA) hosts the Youth Under 14, 16, 18, Senior (open age) and Masters (over 35) Provincial Championship Competition to determine the top Club teams in Manitoba. Typically, the Competition is played in the first two weeks of August with Clubs playing many high level games in a short period of time - so the thrill of victory is all that much sweeter! Once a Club is crowned Provincial Champion they advance to the National Club Championships.
2010 will mark the first year that the Provincial Club Championship Competition will be played throughout the entire summer. We believe changing the timing of the Competitions will allow the Sport of Soccer to better market itself and grow prosperously! In 2010, the Provincial Championship Competition games will be played on Saturday's at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex (900 Waverley Street) on the two recently installed artificial turf fields beginning June 12th. The Competition will boast the very best players, coaches and referees from across Manitoba and the level of play will be second to none. We believe these changes will benefit our players, coaches and referees in many different ways which include; Increased recovery time between matches, field conditions will not be an issue on the artificial turf, no longer have to rush to a game right after work/school, increased scouting opportunities and better media coverage to name a few!
