COMPETITION INFORMATION
PLAYING FACILITIES
The 2009 BMO National Club Championship U16 adidas Cup Competition will be
played at three separate facilities.
Winnipeg Soccer Complex fields which will has an artificial
grass field (WSC 2) and a natural grass field (WSC 3) located at 900 Waverley Street.
Norm Konowalchuk
Stadium which has two natural grass fields located at 2055 Notre Dame.
Memorial fields has two natural grass fields.
Change facilities are only available prior to each
game.
PRACTICE FACILITIES
The LOC has arranged for practice facilities prior to and during the competition. The LOC will be able to offer each team two trips to the facilities for a one hour practice. If a team would like to book additional practice times, they may do so but at their own cost (field booking and transportation).Teams who book practice slots and do not use them will be invoiced
accordingly.
Teams will
be required to book these facilities prior to arriving to ensure transportation be
arranged. Deadline to secure practice times is Friday, September 18, 2009.
The practice facility will be at Grant Park Athletic Grounds which are approximately ten minutes from each hotel.
MERCHANDISE
Merchandise available prior to the competition for pre-order:
Black short sleeve t-shirt with list of all 24 teams on back. The U16 adidas Cup logo will be printed on the front left chest and the BMO logo on the backside of the neck.
Black long sleeve with list of 12 (gender specific) teams competing. The shirt can also be customized with the TEAM NAME printed on the left sleeve (max 12 letters). The U16 adidas Cup logo will be printed on the front left chest and the BMO logo on the backside of the neck.
Sport grey zip hoodie with U16 adidas Cup logo embroidered on the front left chest and BMO logo embroidered on the hood.
Sport grey pull over hoodie with U16 adidas Cup logo embroidered on the front left chest and BMO logo embroidered on the hood.
Black board toque with U16 adidas Cup logo embroidered.
Black helmet toque (strings) with U16 adidas Cup logo embroidered.
TEAM ACCOMMODATIONS
Teams will be reserved 8 total rooms. Teams will have to contact the hotels with their rooming list to secure their accommodations. We kindly ask that all provincial delegates stay at the
Best Western Hotel as it will be designated as the Host Hotel.
The Best Western Hotel (1714 Pembina
Highway) has been selected to host the female teams. Rooms at the Best Western can accommodate four people with two
queen size beds at the rate of $102.00 plus 17% tax. Contact: Tammy Buss at 204-269-8888.
The Holiday Inn
Winnipeg South (1330 Pembina
Highway) has been selected to host the male teams for the competition. Rooms at the Holiday Inn
can accommodate four people with two queen size beds at a rate of $105.00
plus 17% tax. Contact: Sandra Rosenberg at 204-452-4747.

HOSPITALITY ROOM
The hospitality room for team officials and delegates will be hosted at the Best Western Hotel October 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th. The room will open at 8:00 PM and close at 11:00 PM. Transportation will be arranged for team officials coming from the Holiday Inn.
PRE-COMPETITION MEETING
The pre-competition meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn South Winnipeg on Tuesday, October 6th at 7:30 PM.
Teams are asked to send a maximum of two team officials along with the Provincial Delegate. Please bring a sample of all uniforms including shorts and socks.
TRANSPORTATION
Beaver Bus Lines will be providing the transportation for the competition. This will
include transportation to and from the airport and social events. The
Winnipeg Soccer Complex fields are approximately 5-10 minutes from both
hotels. The Norm Konowalchuk fields are approximately 15-20 minutes from
both hotels. The opening ceremonies and team social event will be held at the University of Manitoba and is approximately 5-10 minutes from both hotels.
SOCIAL EVENT
The social event will be held on Friday, October 9th with a “Manitoba Style” Social
at the University of Manitoba for all accredited personnel which includes; Athletes,
Provincial Representatives, Dignitaries and Team Officials.
OPENING CEREMONIES
The opening ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 at the
WSF Indoor Soccer Complex at the University of Manitoba at 6:30 pm.
CLOSING CEREMONIES
The closing ceremonies and medal presentations are to take place (weather permitting) directly after the boys gold/bronze games on Monday,
October 12th.
MEDICAL
Certified athletic therapists will be located on site to ensure medical needs are
met before, during and after games. The therapists will be able to provide
emergency medical care and taping. Teams will be invoiced for all supplies
used.
